Oceanis 58 – Sailing in complete openness!
On the outside – ease and conviviality. The Oceanis 58 benefits from new ideas, even though its membership of the range’s revival is undeniable with a more stretched coachroof, much lengthened side windows, fully built-in spray hood/bimini arch and the ergonomics of each area optimised.Amongst the innovations is the large window framing the companionway that allows the light to flood into the interior and give a unique vision of the sails and from the saloon. The power – assisted door (optional) folds away into the cockpit sole.
All lines come back to the helm positions for easier sailing and to keep the living area clear.
Plenty of stowage space is also to be found in the cockpit, a comfortable stairway between the cockpit and side decks, particularly accessible large lockers (with gas struts) and the specially designed access to the transom skirt is very carefully laid out.
The after deck and skirt, with its open transom is a real terrace over the sea, linking the
cockpit and the sea. it accommodates sunbathing, a deck shower, a comfortable, safe bathing ladder as well as a large locker where the life raft will naturally fit in its place. On the other are a gas locker designed for large capacity bottles as well as lockers for masks and flippers at the bottom of the skirt.
On the sailing side, the hull is designed to perform with moderation heel. The selden mast with triple spreaders takes a fully battened mainsail and genoa in double-ply Dacron from incidence as standard. As an option, sails in hydrant are also offered, as is a staysail, flying or fixed on a furler with self tacking rail.
The interior – luxury and harmony. Access to the saloon by the
very gently sloping companionway (made possible by the arch which keeps the mainsheet adjustment clear) with its handrails/banisters is very safe. To port is located a truly domestic galley with high, deep units, drawer units with shock absorbers, plenty of stowage space and the refrigeration space expected on a modern cruising yacht.
The splendid owner’s cabin offers magnificent space and numerous well-thought out stowage spaces (bed head, tables, closed shelves, dressing table and shelving with courtesy lights, shoe locker, drawer under the berth, ect) the dressing table with mirror can also be used as a desk. In the bow, the sail locker can also house a crew cabin with stowage, toilet and shower.
