France:
Mr Cyril Baillie’s
Sayan Madraco took second place in the Port Grimaud 100-mile race. Having led for three-quarters of the race, at the end the wind then decided otherwise.
The Opal Coast Grand Prix International
IRC 1 – FIRSTS occupy the whole podium:
The FIRST 47.7
Moana took first place, ahead of Michel Lefebvre’s completely new FIRST 40.
The third step was occupied by the English FIRST 35
Stileto, which continues its monopoly of the podium.
Denmark:
BM Yachting, the German FIRST 40 won the Big Boat Challenge sailed at Kerteminde.
BM Yachting won two legs and finished second in the third race. Another FIRST 40,
West Wind occupied the third step on this podium.
UK:
La Réponse, Andrew Mac Irvine and Peter Morton’s FIRST 40 this weekend was awarded the position of “
Boat Captain” for the Team GBR Red, which will take part in the Commodore’s Cup in Cowes this summer.
La Réponse won two of the four inshore races and finished in equal first place on points in the selection races organised by the Royal Southern Yacht Club. The 3rd boat of the team will also be a Beneteau,
"No Chance", Mr & Mrs Neve's First 35.
